Girls Flow Free is an international charity working in the UK, USA, and Ghana. Our vision is to have a world where barriers to girls' achievements are removed by using menstrual hygiene education as a lens to focus on social issues that pose barriers to their education and future.
Our Story
How it all began
Girls Flow Free was founded by Sophia Acheampong, drawing inspiration from her background and the need to support girls from low-income families in Ghana with menstrual health education and menstrual products. Girls Flow Free was started with 100 girls from Denkyemuoso Basic School, Ashanti Region in May 2019. By considering cultural, social, and ethical values, Girls Flow Free is working diligently to positively change menstrual experiences for girls. In addition, our contribution will break the barriers that menstruation imposes on the health and well-being of girls. Through your donation, partnership with stakeholders, and support from the international community, Girls Flow Free will be sustained to change girls’ lives.
